Medical Facial
A medical facial is a specialized skincare treatment that combines traditional techniques with medical-grade products, and equipment to address specific skin concerns. Medical facials are designed to target and treat specific skin conditions, such as acne, hyperpigmentation, rosacea, sun damage, or aging skin. The treatment is typically customized to meet the individual needs of the patient, based on their skin type, concerns, and goals.
The process of a medical facial may involve several steps, including:
- Skin Analysis: Helps identify specific concerns and determines an appropriate treatment plan.
- Deep Cleansing: The skin is thoroughly cleansed to remove dirt, oil, and impurities.
- Exfoliation: Dead skin cells are gently removed through techniques like chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or dermaplaning. This helps to improve skin texture and promote cell turnover.
- Extractions: This step is performed only if the skin needs it, to help remove blackheads, whiteheads, or other clogged pores.
- Treatment Mask: medical-grade ingredients are applied to the skin to address specific concerns and promote healing.
- Moisturization and Sun Protection: The treatment concludes with the application of a moisturizer and sunscreen suitable for the patient’s skin type to nourish and protect the skin.
Depending on the patient’s needs, additional procedures or technologies may be incorporated such as LED light therapy, high frequency, or steaming to enhance the results.
Downtime
Typical downtime after the medical facial is minimal redness that could last a couple of hours.
Results
Your skin will immediately appear smoother, tighter, brighter, and more lifted, and clear. Results are cumulative, so the more you go, the better you’ll look.
Candidate
Since medical facials are customizable, medical professionals can pick and choose the treatment according to your skin type and problems.
Microdermabrasion
WHAT IS MICRODERMABRASION?
Microdermabrasion treatments are a less aggressive approach than dermabrasion. They make use of a minimally abrasive instrument to gently sand the skin, removing the thicker, uneven outer layer. This type of skin rejuvenation is used to treat light scarring, discoloration, and sun damage.
HOW DOES MICRODERMABRASION WORK?
Collagen is a protein in your skin that’s abundant when you’re a child and makes skin appear taut and smooth. Collagen production declines as we age, resulting in looser, uneven skin. Microdermabrasion uses a diamond-tipped wand to slough off the top layer (epidermis) of your skin and stimulate new skin growth. This technique also helps to thicken your collagen, which results in a younger looking complexion. There is almost no discomfort in microdermabrasion, meaning you won’t need a topical or local anesthetic and there is no recovery or downtime.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING MY APPOINTMENT?
You will be laying on a table so your aesthetician can easily treat you. The wand of the microderm machine will be placed on your skin. The tiny crystals in the machine will gently exfoliate the surface of your skin, removing the dead skin cells. At the same time, a vacuum will suck the removed skin cells and debris away.
Microdermabrasion is suitable for all skin types and colors and will not cause scarring or color changes. You may experience dryness or tightness but that will subside within a day or so. If your skin does become red or dry, avoid makeup, stay moisturized, and as always, wear your sunscreen.
HOW LONG WILL MY RESULTS LAST?
Microdermabrasion has been shown to enhance the absorption of skincare products by the skin by up to 50%. This means that if you are treating your skin for acne, the skin will be more receptive to the product, so it can have better results than it normally would. You can get microdermabrasion as often as you like to maintain your exfoliation. We have patients that schedule both weekly and monthly microderms.
Microneedling
Microneedling is an effective solution for those looking to combat wrinkles, fine lines, scaring acne, sun damage, and stretch marks in just a few easy sessions. If you desire fresh, flawless, youthful skin, you no longer need to go under the knife. Microneedling is part of a new generation of non-invasive aesthetic treatments that yield powerful results.
Micro or skin ‘needling’ is a non-surgical skin treatment that utilizes and stimulates the natural rejuvenating powers of the skin tissues to restore healthy cell function, improve skin tone and youthfulness, and even improve scarring. Microneedling is often combined with topical growth factors or other medical skin care products as well as performed with radio frequency (RF) energy to improve and enhance results.
Microneedling refers to the use of tiny needles to make micro punctures in the skin surface at different depths to stimulate the comprehensive powers of natural wound healing and to also improve topical skin care product penetration. Skin needling may be done at variable depths. ‘Cosmetic’ micro-needling refers to more superficial penetration in the outer skin layers and can improve cell function and appearance as well as increase topical product absorption. Micro-needling can be done not only on the face and neck, but anywhere on the body to improve skin health, tone, and youthfulness.
Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatment that improves the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, and stretch marks. The microneedling procedure works by the creation of hundreds of “micro-injuries” or “micro-channels” to the skin using a microneedling pen or other device that incorporates microneedles. Tiny needles are guided over the skin to create minuscule, evenly-spaced puncture wounds to stimulate the skin’s healing response resulting in collagen stimulation. Then, as they heal, they boost the skin’s natural production of collagen and elastic production. This results in clearer, younger-looking skin that is less prone to aging. Although some people opt for microneedling at home, such treatments do not reach the deeper skin layers, therefore have large limitations. For maximum results it is advised to have microdermabrasion done by a professional aesthetician or doctor.

Chemical Peels
Chemical peels improve skin health by removing the outer layers of the skin and stimulating the growth of new cells, combating signs of aging, acne, sun damage, and skin discoloration. Using a potent blend of chemical exfoliants and multi-action agents, chemical peels effectively target skin concerns and can be used to enhance surgical and non-surgical procedures, as well as your at-home skincare regimen.
We offer a wide variety of chemical peels to address all skin types and desired results. From mild to advanced, including lactic, glycolic, salicylic, enzyme and more advanced peels for more dramatic results, our team of licensed aestheticians will customize the right treatment for your needs. The benefit of exfoliation caused by peels is to gently enzymatically loosen and slough off surface debris and impurities that build up over time making skin appear dull, lifeless, tired and aged. By applying the peel solution, brighter, softer, more illuminated skin is replaced allowing pores to breathe, improve circulation and promote fresh new cellular growth. Before deciding which peel is right for you, we will carefully evaluate each person’s skin and listen to every detail to ensure the best treatment plan. Chemical Peels can be added to a service or as a stand-alone service in itself.

WHAT IS A CHEMICAL PEEL?
A chemical peel is a technique to improve and smooth the texture of the skin. Peels treat wrinkles around the eyes and mouth and skin discoloration. They also help with age spots, dull skin texture, and mild acne scars. Also, peels can treat the neck, chest, and hands.
HOW DOES A CHEMICAL PEEL WORK?
A peel treatment starts with a chemical solution to remove the outer layers of skin. This stimulates new skin growth. The new skin is usually smoother, less wrinkled, and more even in color. Chemical peels may produce reddening and peeling like sunburn. This lasts a few days to several weeks, depending on the strength and depth of the chemical peel.
HOW LONG WILL MY RESULTS LAST?
After your treatment, your skin may experience reddening and peeling like a sunburn. This lasts a few days to several weeks, depending on the strength and depth of the chemical peel. The new skin is usually smoother, less wrinkled, and more even in color. Keep in mind that the peeling process usually takes a few days to begin and does not immediately start.
The results from your chemical peel can last up to several months. Typically, the deeper the peel, the longer it could last. Being in the sun often can damage the effects and the duration of benefits you have received from the peels. Your provider can help you start a treatment plan that would let you maximize your results.

Acne Facials Treatments
Acne, Treatment of Acne and Acne Scarring
When it comes to your skin, there is no greater battle than acne! It can be unpredictable, long lasting, damaging to the self-esteem and relentless! Blemishes can manifest on those as young as 8 years old, and then span until your late 50’s or more. There is no choice but to get on top of the problem and learn some Acne Management Tools. A lifetime is too long to suffer needlessly.
If you have acne-prone facial skin, it can feel like you’re constantly dealing with a new breakout. When your face is covered in those little red, tender bumps, it can be uncomfortable and embarrassing. However, you may have more options to prevent these frustrating acne breakouts than you realize. Many facial treatments can be quite effective for reducing acne, and we have several of them available at Ideal Mind & Body Wellness Center.
An acne facial treatment can help clear out blackheads and remove dead skin from blocked pores. Some people may want to add them to their regular acne care, alongside medication and other skin treatments you do at home.
Getting to the “root” of this imbalance in our skin is key to managing acne. These treatments were designed to cleanse but ultimately, respect the skin’s ecosystem & recreate that balance.
Decongesting Facial
Acne is a skin condition that occurs when your hair follicles become plugged with oil and dead skin cells. Most common among teenagers, it increasingly affects adults as well (Acne Vulgaris). Hormonal imbalance and poor skin health are main causers of Acne. This imbalance in the production of sebum in the skin causes our glands to get clogged, leading to inflammation and infection that manifests as an acne breakout.
Acne progresses through various stages. It can start with open or closed comedones (blackheads or whiteheads), leading to pustules (with that “white head” and in the worst case scenario, big boils that are medically classified as nodules or cysts. Left untreated, it can cause scarring on the skin.
If your skin is unusually susceptible to acne breakouts, it could be partially due to your pores clogging with oil, dirt, and bacteria. When these things build up in the pores, it creates a breeding ground for new acne. The Decongesting Facial is a treatment that primarily aims to unclog the pores. By clearing or “decongesting” your blocked pores, this facial will remove the most important ingredients needed for acne breakouts. This treatment also has a resurfacing element, dissolving the outer layer of skin to allow the smoother, healthier layers to shine through.
We can help you with acne scarring, mild breakouts, clogged pores, whiteheads and blackheads, back acne and all the other areas where acne pops up. To help you manage your acne, we have created several different products such as: acne treatment kits, pimple creams, acid washes, dermabrasion scrubs, masks and facial peels.

The Benefits of An Acne Facial
If you feel like your life is controlled by your acne and breakouts, we cannot recommend professional treatments enough. While the urge to pop your pimples at home can be overwhelming, choosing a spot treatment instead, and seeing an esthetician to perform extractions is a highly superior option. By popping your pimples at home, you run the risk of making your breakouts significantly worse by inadvertently pushing bacteria deeper into the skin. This not only leads to further pimples – but can cause infection as well.
An acne facial provides a deeper level of cleansing for the skin that is extremely difficult to mimic at home. In addition to extractions, estheticians will use higher grade treatments on the skin that are not available or suitable for home care.
- Targets congestion within pores, rapidly removing blockages
- Addresses the look of acne-related symptoms, such as off-balance skin bacteria that leads to excess sebum and shine
- Improves the look of problem skin over time with a formula suitable for all skin types
Results
The best results are seen with a good skincare routine that seeks to balance the skin & regular treatments (4-6 weeks).
